This website was setup in january 2005, mainly as a website about folding bikes. The reason for it was the folding bike which I called: 'Eerder' and which I designed and built in the summer of 1999. As a Mechanical engineer and with the 'Eerder' bike design I got a job as a folding bike designer at Sparta's R&D department (dutch bike manufacturer). This job ended after 3 years, because all folding bike activities were being moved to Dahon. The 'Eerder' bike made me start collecting vintage folding bikes and my house is stuffed by now. During my next job at 'Bikeshop Amersfoort' stories arise about my handmade cross frame sporty bike (ex30), special parts for the Brompton folding bikes and tailor made support wheels for older children. Support wheels for children led to support wheels for adult people with balance problems. One thing leads to another and projects come and go. Unfortunatly for the internet surfing bike enthusiasts, this website is always behind, simply because I prefer being in my workshop.
